• Greenalia will add 410MWp of solar capacity in Southern Spain.
• The additional capacity will meet the energy demand of over 164,000 persons.
Spanish forestry and energy group Greenalia has announced plans to build a 410MWp of solar projects in the region of Andalusia. The company aims to invest about EUR 250 million (USD 283m) to develop the Guadame I-V, Zumajo I-II and Marmolejo Solar I-II projects in the municipality of Marmolejo Jaen province.
Each solar park is expected to have a capacity of 50MWp, except for the Marmolejo projects, which will have an individual capacity of 30MWp.
Greenalia’s proposals have been submitted and are available for public consultation in Andalusia’s and Jaen’s official gazettes. Upon installation, these nine photovoltaic (PV) parks are expected to generate enough power to meet the energy demand of over 164,000 families, the Spanish energy group noted.
