- Honeywell energy will supply an energy storage solution in New Mexico
- The facility will consist of a 20MW/80MWh battery system.
Honeywell’s energy storage solution is set to supply a 20MW/80MWh battery system for renewables group Hecate Energy’s solar farm in New Mexico, USA.
The company told the local news agency that NASDAQ-listed Honeywell would deliver a battery energy storage system combined with an energy management system (EMS) to the solar farm. It will be a lithium-ion system.
The combined platform will allow for asset monitoring and distributed energy resource management, allowing Hecate to optimise energy costs at the 50MW solar farm, located on the Jicarilla Apache Nation, north of Albuquerque. The facility is expected to commence operation in late 2022, and the city is subscribing to 25MW or half of the site’s solar off-take.
Honeywell says it provides outcome-based guarantees around cost, uptime and revenue stacking abilities, including peak shaving, backup power and demand response programs.
