Huawei has unveiled the smart string energy storage technology designed for utility-scale solar power plants. The technique reduces LCOS by 20% by utilising the controllability of power electronics to alleviate the inconsistency and unpredictability of lithium batteries. Last October, Huawei agreed to offer its Smart PV+Storage solution to SEPCOIII for a 400MW PV plus 1300MWh energy storage project in Saudi Arabia. This 1300MWh off-grid energy storage project is the world’s largest microgrid energy storage project, setting a standard for the worldwide energy storage industry’s development.
