Huawei Digital Power Technologies has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Meinergy Technology to deploy a renewable energy solution in Ghana. The deal will see Huawei Digital Power provide a complete smart PV & energy storage system (ESS) solution for the 1 GW utility-scale PV plant and 500 MWh ESS project being developed by Meinergy in Ghana. The firms have been working closely across markets in Africa to deliver their renewable energy solutions.
At the signing ceremony was Wu Guangwen, CEO, Meinergy, Zhou Wei, Managing Director of Huawei Ghana Representative Office, and Fang Liangzhou, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Huawei Digital Power.
The government of Ghana plans to increase power demand, diversify Ghana’s energy mix, and accelerate the state’s socio-economic development.
