The Hungarian government pledges 140 million euros ($152 million) for infrastructure and energy projects in Bosnia’s Serb Republic. Serb Republic Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic and Hungary’s Economy Minister Marton Nagy endorse the projects.
Initiatives include waste management and wind and solar park construction. Two German-initiated projects shut down last year due to concerns over secessionist ambitions.
Hungarian firms Veolia, MVM, and Alteo will participate. An economic forum in Banja Luka attracts dozens of companies.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expresses optimism about the region’s economic growth. He criticises foreign interference in Bosnia’s affairs and supports EU integration.
