IBEDC Dragged before NERC

The Lalupon/Iwo Road Feeder Electricity Consumers’ Association has dragged the Ibadan Electricity Regulatory Commission (IBEDC) before the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). The Chairman Rev. Jide Kehinde of the association has alleged that IBEDC has failed to solve the consistent power problems in the community for over eight years. He further lamented the effect the supply has had on commercial activities in the area.

Speaking with news correspondents, Rev. Jide Kehinde said a lot of businesses in the area had shut down due to the problem of erratic supply. He further alleged that due to the poor supply, the security of lives and property around the area have been put in jeopardy. He said, “Our prayers before NERC are that IBEDC should give us uninterrupted power supply and reverse its outrageous billing system”.

Speaking on behalf of IBEDC, Mrs. Dupe Adesoga, denied any insensitivity on the part of IBEDC but however, admitted the supply challenges. She assured the community that IBEDC will intensify its efforts to restore adequate supply to the area.
