India and Germany Sign Agreement for Capacity Building in the Solar Sector

  • India and Germany will partner to build capacity in the solar segment.
  • This will be done via joint skills sharing programme, IGVET

The Rajasthan Solar Association (RSA) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has signed an agreement for solar skills development in India. Both organisations would implement several workshops and training sessions, and programmes for this purpose.

The Indo German Vocational Education and Training Program (IGVET) under the GIZ is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) that aims to improve labour skills in India. The programme utilises the German Dual training system where the private sector plays an active role in providing high quality, on-the-job training opportunities.

RSA and GIZ have already designed a series of initiatives in the coming years for skill development in the solar segment.
