Infinite Green Energy to Build Facilities for Green Hydrogen Production

  • Infinite Green Energy to build 235 MW of wind and solar power capacity for green hydrogen production
  • It plans to start the project’s construction in the first quarter of 2023 and production in the third quarter of 2025.

Australia-based developer Infinite Green Energy has announced plans to install close to 235MW of wind and solar power to generate green hydrogen in Western Australia. According to a news report, the company has submitted its proposal to the state’s Environmental Protection Authority.

Infinite Green intends to construct a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant of between 65 MW and 85 MW in size, as well as a wind farm consisting of up to 25 turbines of 6 MW each. The capacity will be used to power a facility capable of producing between 23 and 42 tonnes of green hydrogen per day. The project also targets 20 MW of battery storage capacity.

The developer plans to transport the hydrogen to end-users in the form of a compressed liquid product via hydrogen-fuelled road tankers. It intends to start construction works on the project in the first quarter of next year and begin production in the third quarter of 2025.
