Inspired Schools South Africa has collaborated with an engineering company for a solar energy project across its 11 campuses. The initiative aims to mitigate the effects of load-shedding and drive the adoption of renewable energy, ensuring uninterrupted learning for students.
The engineering company, with expertise in renewable energy solutions, has successfully implemented large-scale projects across Africa and Europe. The firm will oversee the solar energy system’s design, installation and maintenance at all 11 of its schools in South Africa with their extensive experience and technical proficiency.
The CEO of Africa at Inspired Schools, Ravi Nadasen, said, “By adopting renewable energy solutions, we are taking proactive steps to provide uninterrupted learning experiences for our students, even during challenging times. This project aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and dedication to preparing our students for a future driven by renewable energy.”
The project’s rollout will involve installing cutting-edge solar panels and large-scale lithium batteries across their campuses. These panels will generate clean and sustainable electricity, ensuring uninterrupted power supply during load-shedding. The project, which represents a step towards reducing the institution’s reliance on the national power grid, is scheduled to commence this month and be completed by December.
