Chinese solar product maker JA Solar Technology Co Ltd has unveiled an ambitious plan to add approximately 14GW to its existing integrated production capacity with projects at home and in Vietnam.
According to the company, the proposal calls for an investment of CNY 3.45 billion (USD 544.8m). The expansion plan envisages the construction of a 10GW factory for photovoltaic (PV) modules and auxiliary products in the city of Yiwu, in China’s central Zhejiang province, at the cost of CNY 688.4m. A newly-created company will implement the project over ten months.
Also, in China, JA Solar will invest CNY 370m to add 1.3GW of solar cell and monocrystalline silicon wafer capacity in Ningjin, Shandong province. The power will be added by upgrading an existing facility of the company, with works expected to take seven months.
