- 80,000 to be allocated under the NMMP
Kaduna Electric has begun the installation of meters across its operation areas in Kaduna, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Sokoto states. Kaduna Electric began implementing the National Mass Meter Program in October 2020. Residents of MPH Estate, Millennium City, and High Cost, Barnawa in Kaduna state were recipients of the meters.
The Spokesman for Kaduna Electric, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said the company had made arrangements with Meter Asset Providers to ensure all allocated meters under the NMMP are duly installed. He put the time frame for the installations at March 2021. Kaduna Electric was allocated a total of 80,000 meters in the first phase of the program.
“We are excited about this especially since the meters were installed at no cost to us”, said Ishaku Bitrus who was a recipient of the meter in Barnawa area, Kaduna state.
