- Kenya Power launches virtual portal for customer connection
- Service available on a mobile app
- This is in line with the company’s vision for improved services
The state-owned power company Kenya Power has launched a mobile application to ease connection procedures for its customers. The service will be hosted on the mobile app ‘My Power’. Customers will be required to submit details including land/property ownership documents, ID cards and PIN certificates through the portal before approval for connection is given.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bernard Ngugi described the portal as a project “….in line with one of the company’s core strategic pillars of enhancing customer experience aimed at making services more accessible to customers. The convenient Electricity application has never attracted any charges and will remain free. The digitised process will help curtail opportunities for middlemen and fraudsters who exploit customers”, said Mr Ngugi
”The application process will also help drive sales, which is among the key pillars of our turnaround strategy”, Ngugi continued.
