Kenya Power Issues Power Outage Notice

  • The power outage notice is to facilitate the maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network.

Kenya Power has issued a notice to Kenyans of power interruptions in some parts of the country today, January 29, 2024. In a note on its website, the utility firm said that the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade power lines to the network.

The power outage notice by the utility firm stated, “Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as here under: (It is necessary to interrupt supply periodically to facilitate maintenance and upgrade of power lines to the network; to connect new customers or to replace power lines during construction, etc.).”

Kenya Power said that the power interruptions will affect Kajiado and Nyeri Counties. Kenya Power said parts of Kajiado County will be in blackout for nine hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The areas affected include Kitili Farm, Kikora Farm, Mbogo Tuu, Engirkir Crushe, Namanga Town, Bisil, Ngatataek, Maili Tisa, Kumpa and adjacent customers.
