- Korkia reveals its new alliances to build a 1GW solar project.
Korkia Ltd, a Finnish investment and advising firm, revealed that it had formed new alliances to build several solar projects on the Greek mainland and the island of Crete with a total capacity of over 1 GW.
In a statement, Korkia said it had collaborated on projects in the Thessaly region with GH Energy and in Crete with AA Sunshine. These partnerships will work to have their projects shovel-ready by 2024. Energy storage facility installation is also part of the proposals.
One submarine cable has already been installed between the Greek mainland and the island of Crete, according to Korkia, and a second one is expected to be completed by the end of the following year.
