The signing involved KOC CEO Ahmed Jaber Al Eidan and MEWRE acting undersecretary Maha Al Asousi. The deal reflects Kuwait’s commitment to renewable energy amid global sustainability efforts.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signifies mutual determination to overcome challenges hindering renewable energy projects. Al Eidan praised the leadership’s support, aligning KOC’s endeavours with the vision of New Kuwait 2035.
Al Asousi emphasised the environmental benefits of KOC’s plants, including carbon emission reduction and easing pressure on the national grid. The agreement entails forming a joint team to devise strategies for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
