Lagos Tank Farm Fire: No effect on the petroleum supply – MOMAN

  • The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) has stated that the recent fire incident at the OVH Energy Depot, Lagos will not affect petroleum supply in the country
  • The fire incident occurred on 5th November 2020
  • The incident affected the storage facility for 7.5 million liters of petroleum products

The recent fire incident at the OVH Energy Depot which affected the storage facility will not affect the overall supply of petroleum products in the country. According to the MOMAN, the body has made efforts to ensure the continuation of the seamless distribution of petroleum products across the country despite the incident.

Speaking on behalf of the body, the Executive Secretary, Mr. Clement Isong assured the general public that “there shall be no supply disruptions because of this event”. He further stated that the body insists on environmentally safe practices to ensure the safety of lives and property at facilities owned by the members.

Following the incident, the Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) in its response effort was successful in stopping and preventing the spread of the fire.
