At least two staff of TCN severely injured

At least two staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) have suffered severe injuries caused by a landmine explosion. The accident occured at Mainok in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. The vehicle they were traveling in ran over a landmine suspected to have been laid by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
The TCN staff alongside the staff of Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) were on the way to continue repairs to electricity installations damaged in a recent attack by the terrorist group. The attack had cut off Maiduguri and neighbouring cities from electricity supply. The TCN had recently paid a courtsey visit to the Borno state government to assure them of their efforts to restore supply and also seek the provision of adequate security in order to carry out the repairs on the damaged installations.
The injured staff were promptly taken to Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (MUTH) where they are currently receiving treatment. Borno state has continued to suffer attacks from the dreaded Boko Haram.
