Two suspects have been apprehended for allegedly connecting illegally to the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) network. The suspects were apprehended during a routine inspection of houses and metering infrastructure by a staff of the LEC.
The company Naresh Brothers Incorporated was illegally connected to the LEC network, and the Manager was arrested and taken to the Liberia National Police (LNP) Headquarters in Monrovia. The company’s General Manager, Amandani Karan, was charged to court and denied the charges.
According to the LNP, following preliminary investigations, it was established that Naresh Brothers Incorporated perpetrated the illegal connection through its General Manager(defendant). Further, the LNP stated that the illegal connection was used over a period of one year.
