- GECOL, NOC discuss gas-to-power collaboration
- NOC to meet GECOL’s demand
Libya state-owned electricity utility company General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has met with its oil and gas counterpart National Oil Corporation (NOC) to discuss inter-sectorial cooperation on the challenges of gas-to-power. The Chairman of the NOC, Wiam Al-Abdali, met with the Chairman GECOL, Mustafa Sanalla, at the NOC headquarters.
The Chairmen discussed the importance of adequate gas-to-power on electricity supply and how both entities can integrate operations towards generating adequate electricity in the country to meet growing demand.
Mr Sanalla described the priorities of the NOC to include the provision of adequate gas especially, to the electricity sector. He added that the available gas-to-power capacity is sufficient to meet the demand from GECOL. Sanalla further explained that the NOC is developing the gas fields in the Hamada and Atshan areas. He noted that the projects would be finished in the coming months.
