Longi Solar and Zhejiang Thermal Power Sign Contract for Kom Ombo 200 MW Project in Egypt

Longi Solar Technology Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd. have signed a module purchase contract for the Kom Ombo 200 MW Project in Egypt during the SNEC Exhibition. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Yu Wei, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of Zhejiang Thermal Power, and Mr. Dennis She, vice president of Longi Group.

The Kom Ombo project, located in the city of Kom Ombo in Egypt, will have an installed capacity of 200 MWac, a DC capacity of 230 MW, and a 220 kV Booster Station. ACWA Power is the developer of the project, while the EPC contract has been awarded to a consortium consisting of China Power Engineering Consult and Zhejiang Thermal Power, affiliated with China Energy Engineering Company (CEEC group). Longi Solar will supply high-efficiency mono PERC bifacial modules for the project. The project aims to provide power to approximately 130,000 households and reduce carbon emissions by 336,000 tons annually, contributing to Egypt’s energy transition and economic and social development.

During the ceremony, Mr. Yu expressed his desire for both parties to leverage their strengths and collaborate on overseas energy projects, while Dennis highlighted the CEEC group’s significant contributions in building energy infrastructure across the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. Longi Solar is committed to supporting CEEC’s international expansion with reliable and innovative products and advanced technology to facilitate global energy transformation.
