Marseille, France, readies for the seventh Emerging Valley summit, expecting 3,000 participants from Europe and Africa. It aims to boost sustainable development through tech collaborations. The summit will be held from November 28th to 29th, focusing on digital solutions for sustainability.

The main discussion point is achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 for African and European cities. Notable speakers include Marieme Diop from IFC, Claude Borna from Sèmè City Development Agency, Mamadou Touré, Ivory Coast’s Minister for Youth Promotion and Employment, and Jean Van Wetter from ENABEL.

Following its tradition, the summit honours innovative African startups. Wayout Ecological Solutions won for their “Zigofiltre” sewage network reinforcement in Tunisian communes. GreenBox was lauded for its solar-powered fridge in Congo. Two more African initiatives will be recognised in Marseille.
