Finnish clean energy solutions provider Meriaura Energy Ltd has announced that it has signed a contract to build a solar thermal plant in France, valued at around EUR 1.7 million (USD 1.81m).
Meriaura Energy said the contract will involve the turnkey delivery of a 5,800-square-metre (62,431 sq ft) solar thermal field for Les Serres Vermeil SARL, an organic vegetable producer based in Palau-del-Vidre, southern France.
The firm will use the plant to heat its greenhouse complex. The project was developed in collaboration with Eiffage Energie Systemes—Cogénération SAS, part of the French construction central Eiffage SA.
Construction of the plant is due to start in 2024, and Meriaura Energy expects to finalise the project in early 2025.
