Mestron, Trinasolar to Accelerate Renewable Energy Development in Malaysia

  • Mestron Energy signed an MoU with Trinasolar to supply 50MW of high-efficiency solar modules for renewable projects across Malaysia.
  • The partnership supports Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap and advances net-zero and clean energy goals by 2050.

Mestron Energy, the renewable energy arm of Mestron Holdings Berhad, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Trinasolar to expand Malaysia’s renewable energy capacity and accelerate the nation’s transition to clean power.

Under the agreement, Trinasolar will supply 50 megawatts (MW) of high-efficiency Vertex N-type solar modules for Mestron Energy’s renewable energy projects across Malaysia.

Meanwhile, the partnership demonstrates Mestron Energy’s commitment to supporting the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and aligns with Malaysia’s target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

“This partnership marks another important step in Mestron’s renewable energy journey,” said Por Teong Eng, Managing Director of Mestron Holdings. “By collaborating with Trinasolar, we combine world-class solar technology with our local project expertise to deliver efficient, sustainable, cost-effective energy solutions. We will contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s clean energy ecosystem and the broader ASEAN renewable energy landscape.”

In addition, Mestron Energy continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio by developing projects in solar, biogas, hydro, and energy efficiency. The company also leverages its engineering capabilities and nationwide infrastructure network to build a diversified clean energy portfolio that meets Malaysia’s rising demand for sustainable power infrastructure.

“We are pleased to partner with Mestron Energy to deliver advanced, cost-effective solar solutions that support Malaysia’s clean-energy ambitions,” said Ku Jun Heong, Vice President of Trinasolar’s Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa region. “Our Vertex N modules maximise energy yield and lower the levelised energy cost.”

Furthermore, Trinasolar, one of the world’s leading solar technology manufacturers, reported over 292 gigawatts (GW) of cumulative global module shipments as of March 2025. The company said the collaboration enables Mestron Energy to deploy cutting-edge solar technology and strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional leader in sustainable energy development.

The agreement reinforces corporate momentum toward renewable energy adoption and highlights ASEAN’s expanding role as a hub for clean energy innovation and investment.
