Consumers across Michigan were left without electricity supply following severe storms and possible tornadoes on Saturday. Power Outage, US reported at least 125,606 power outages reported in the state as of midday Sunday.
The outages affected at least 87,000 customers in the Detroit area in Oakland County and 26,000 customers in Wayne County. DTE Energy has said on its website that ”DTE teams are working around the clock to restore power after heavy rain and tornadoes ripped through southeast Michigan on Saturday”. ”Crews are assessing damage and making repairs as quickly and safely as possible. Restoration estimates are being updated as crews arrive on the scene.”, the energy utility stated.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Renee Yax. Armada, also reports that a suspected tornado made landfall in Armada and asks residents to avoid the area.
