Ministry of Power to Establish Power Training Center in Taraba

 

  • FG plans to establish the training centre in Gembu, Taraba

The Minister of Power Sale Mamman has announced plans by the Federal Government to establish a regional power training centre. The training centre will be located in Gembu, Taraba State. The Minister made this known at the inauguration of a project in Taraba.

The Minister reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government in improving access to electricity in the state and its environs. He said, “we are making efforts to provide power to the unserved and underserved communities in Taraba State, through Mini-grid projects such as 37 KW Mini-grid in Takum and Ussa; 5KW Mini-grid in Makama Community in Donga; and 7.5KW Mini-grid here in the Federal University Wukari, which are all completed and are ready for commissioning”.

Mamman also spoke on the progress to the Mambilla project saying “At this juncture, I also wish to re-affirm the commitment of the federal government to implement the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project, we are making all efforts to mobilise the project contractors to the site as soon as possible”.
