- Mitsubishi Corp leads an international coalition for electric natural gas development.
- E-NG, derived from renewable sources, aids energy transition.
Mitsubishi Corp announced the formation of an international coalition for electric natural gas. It includes TotalEnergies and Tokyo Gas. They aim to support the development of electric natural gas (e-NG).
E-NG is a synthetic gas from renewable hydrogen and carbon dioxide (CO2). It can use existing infrastructures for transportation and storage.
With a collective vision firmly rooted in propelling the world towards a net-zero carbon future, the coalition firmly believes that e-NG holds immense potential to expedite the ongoing energy transition. Mitsubishi and its partners plan to develop e-NG reliably, affordably, and sustainably.
They aim to contribute to the fight against climate change. The coalition includes Engie, Sempra Infrastructure, TES, Osaka Gas, and Toho Gas. They will establish the “e-NG Coalition” in the year’s first half.
