The Oualidia wind farm in Morocco is expected to reach its full capacity by the end of the first half of 2021. This announcement was made by the projects IPP, InnoVent Maroc, a subsidiary of the French Group InnoVent.
The project is located in the Moroccan Province of Sidi Bennour, spread across ten hectares. Recently, the first MW from the wind farm was fed to the Moroccan electricity grid. The first turbine which was commissioned a few weeks ago feeds 3 MW into the grid of the Office national de l’eau et de l’électricité (ONEE). This is done under a power purchase agreement (PPA).
The project developer, InnoVent Maroc, invested €27.8 million in the project’s development. InnoVent shared that the wind farm will be expanded in the next few weeks by 33 MW.
