Morocco accepting bids in May
- Predator Oil and Gas submits bid to Morocco
- The firm already invested in the Moroccan gas sector
The British firm Predator Oil and Gas have submitted a bid to build and operate a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) to the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines and the Environment. Morocco is looking to develop its gas sector to reduce the use of coal-fired plants for electricity generation.
The annual requirement of the FSRU project in Morocco is for an initial 1.1billion cubic meters (bcm) by 2025, with a potential for growth of 1.7bcm and 3bcm by 2030 through 2040. The Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines, and the Environment had in April invited bid offers for the FRSU with a deadline of May 31st.
Predator Oil and Gas is not new to the Moroccan energy scene. The firm operates an exploration licensee in Guercif, Morocco.
