Morocco has launched a second call for proposals for the development of solar PV projects.
- The projects are expected to generate a cumulative 400MWp when completed.
- The projects are part of the first phase of the country’s larger Noor PV Solar Programme.
The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) has recently launched a call for private companies to develop the Noor PV II solar programme’s first phase. The call that was launched on the 31st of December 2020 is the second call for projects for this phase which is expected to add 400MW solar PV energy to its national grid.
The deadline for applications is 31 January 2021. Masen has selected four sites for the first phase of the Noor PV II solar programme. They include; Sidi Bennour, Kelaa Sraghna, Taroudant, Bejaad, El Hajeb and Ain Beni Mathar.
The Noor programme will cost about €740 million; The programme is part of Morocco’s bid to produce 3,000MW from renewable sources by 2030.
