President Muhammadu Buhari made this known at EKEDC event
- He acknowledged the liquidity challenges in the sector

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to fixing the liquidity challenges in the electricity sector. He made this known at the commissioning event of Eko DisCo’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition-Distribution Management System (SCADA-DMS) centre. President Buhari was represented at the event by the Minister of Power, Sale Mamman.
Mr. President in his speech, stated: “My administration remains committed to addressing the liquidity challenges which are adversely affecting the Power sector’s viability”. He assured of his administration’s commitment to, ease the burden of tariff shortfalls through intervention programs. They include the National Mass Metering Program (NMMP), the Siemens AG Power Project, and the World Bank Distribution Sector Recovery Program (DISREP).
The President assured of the Federal Government’s readiness to support any initiative “geared towards addressing the challenges facing the Nigerian power sector”.
