NamPower calls for EPC bid on power plant
- Anixas II is a 50MW plant
- Plant will use dual fuel technologies
Namibia’s state-owned company Namibia Power (NamPower) has called for bids application for the engineering, procurement and construction of Anixas II power plant. The power plant will run on fuel technology and will be operated by NamPower. NamPower operates a generation, transmission and energy trading business model and supplies bulk electricity to the regional electricity distributors in the country.
NamPower owns and operates diesel-fired Anixas I in Walvis Bay alongside two other power stations with a combined capacity of 459.5 MW. These stations contribute the bulk of electricity supplied in the country. The Anixas II project will also be constructed at Walvis Bay.
The bids will be open until 3rd September 2021.
