The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) is set to construct a 7.5MVA, 33/11KV injection substation in Ekiti State, Nigeria. The substation is expected to increase the state’s power supply by 15MW when completed. The facility will be accompanied by 33KV/11KV transmission lines and four 500KVA distribution substation transformers.
NDPHC’s Executive Director, Networks, Mr. IfeOluwa Oyedele, at the substation’s groundbreaking ceremony, stated that the substation will improve the socioeconomic status of the state. He added that the NDPHC had completed five injection substations in Ekiti state since its inception.
Mr Oyedele stated that the new substation will relieve other stations in the state of the load they currently carry ensuring that the local government housing the station and environs benefit. At the groundbreaking, Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi also highlighted the inadequate state of power supplying the state and called for the early completion of the substation to bridge the supply gap.
