The unit of Norwegian pure-play hydrogen technology company Nel ASA which is located in the US has received a USD 3 million contract from sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) company LanzaJet. Nel ASA will supply LansaJet with containerised PEM electrolyser.
Nel Hydrogen US will make the delivery of the machine for installation at the world’s first commercial Alcohol-to-Jet production plant. Upon complete construction of the facility, the unit is expected to produce 10 million gallons of SAF and renewable diesel per year from sustainable ethanol.
“Electrolysers can produce cost-effective hydrogen for green chemical processes, which we expect to accelerate in light of recent production tax credit legislation for low carbon hydrogen,” commented Dave Wolff, Regional Sales Manager for Nel Hydrogen US.
Nel plans to deliver the equipment in the third quarter of next year.
