This leaves a total of 59.73% of registered electricity consumers in the country without meters. The report also lists Abuja, Benin, and Eko DisCos as the only DisCos who have metered over 50% of their customer base. The average metering for all DisCos stands at a poor 40.3% a drop from 40.4% in 2019.
The Commission has assured of a solution to the technical and operational difficulties experienced by the Distribution Companies (DisCos). NERC has asked the DisCos to submit additional information and clarifications on their Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) in order to enable the Commission to carry out its review.
