According to data from the Monthly Financial and Operations Report of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), gas-to-power supply dropped by 49 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) for April. Gas supply from the previous month, March 2021, stood at 844mmscfd while the gas supplied in April was 795mmscfd.
The year on year data shows that gas supply rose from 788mmscfd in April 2020 to 795mmscfd in April 2021. On the other hand, the domestic supply increased by 259mmscfd from 3,041mmscfd in Q4 2020 to 3300mmscfd in Q1 2021. Gas-fired Generation Companies (GenCos) generated 3,416MW of electricity in April 2021 from the domestic gas supply.
”Out of the 1,430.90 mmscfd of gas supplied to the domestic market in April 2021, about 794.79 mmscfd of gas representing 54.54 per cent was supplied to Gas-Fired power plants,” the report stated.
