- The Siemens power deal is envisioned to experience a breakthrough in September.
- FGN Power is set to acquire electricity equipment from Germany.
The FGN Power company has announced that it is set to commence electricity equipment importation from Germany to kick off the Siemens power deal. Kenny Anuwe, Managing Director, FGN Power, made this known at a meeting in Abuja.
At the meeting, Kenny noted that with the installation of the power equipment, there would be a major improvement in the supply of electricity in the country. According to him, the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) in Phase 1 seeks to modernise, rehabilitate, and expand the national grid by investing in the electricity value chain, including the power sector’s generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
He noted that Siemens took part in the project with world-class experience in power system reforms like they did recently in Egypt. Its activities would create rapid transformation in the on-grid electricity value chain.
