- UTM signs contract with American and Japanese firms
- To develop 176mcf LNG plant

UTM Offshore, an oil and gas firm will today, sign agreements on the development of a Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) floating plant. UTM has engaged the services of two foreign firms, JGC Corporations and Kellog Brown and Root (KBR) Engineering Company.
The contract involves the development of a 176 million cubic feet (mcf) floating gas plant. KBR a United States (US) Engineering Company will carry out a third-party review of the Pre-Front End Engineering Design (FEED) from the JGC Corporation, a Japanese firm.
Speaking at the Licensing ceremony, the Director of DPR, Mr. Sarki Auwalu had said the Licensing was in line with the declaration of a ”Decade of Gas” by the Federal Government (FG). Mr. Auwalu noted the FG’s commitment to the development and participation of indigenous firms in the Nigerian gas sector. The Licensing he said, signified President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to the policy initiative.
UTM Offshore was issued a License-to-Establish (LTE) a Floating LNG plant. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) issued the LTE in February this year.
