NIGERIA: Governor Fintiri Commissions Tuongo Electrification Project

The Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has commissioned the Tuongo electrification project. The commissioning comes 22 years after the Local Government Area (LGA) was established in the state. During his 2019 election campaigns, Governor Fintiri had promised to electrify the LGA through his administrations 11-point Agenda.

Governor Fintiri commissioned the 1st Phase of the project involving a 33kV line from Ganye to Toungo linked to the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) main station. The 2nd Phase of the project is currently ongoing and is at 90% completion.

Alhaji Abdullahi Prambe, the state’s Commissioner for Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, thanked the Governor for his commitment to fulfilling his promise to the LGA and added that the project would boost economic development in the area. He asked members of the community to be vigilant and take responsibility for the safety of the newly installed equipment.
