- Governor Makinde inaugurates IPP project
- The project will power Oyo State Secretariat and environs
- Elektron Energy to carry out the project works
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has inaugurated the 11MW hybrid Independent Power Plant (IPP) project. The IPP will provide electricity to the government facilities within the Oyo State Secretariat and its environs. Elektron Energy would execute the ₦8,027,430,214 IPP project over a period of eight months.
”Earlier today, we flagged off the Oyo State Independent Power Project. The 11MW hybrid power plant is being executed by Elektron Energy on a Build-Operate-Transfer model.” Governor Makinde stated.
”It will provide power to government facilities within the Oyo State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan and environs,” he added.
”The Special Purpose Vehicle that Elektron Energy will use to execute this contract is Ibadan Hybrid Power Limited (IH Power). IH Power will also be responsible for managing the distribution infrastructure through Ibadan Hybrid Distribution Limited, which will hold an Independent Electricity Distribution Network (IEDN) license,” Makinde added.
