- Meters installed under the NMMP scheme
Mr Felix Ofulue, Head, Corporate Communications Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (Ikeja Electric), has stated that the company has installed 98,000 meters under the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP) of the Federal Government. He made this known while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
”After the initial challenges we had with the metering scheme, we have now installed about 98,000 free meters for our unmetered customers under the NMMP”, Ofulue said. ”We are at over 90 per cent completion of Phase Zero, and we are advising customers who have yet to register to visit www.Ikejaelectric.com to complete their registration as soon as possible”, he added.
Ofulue further stated that Ikeja Electric is committed to improving meter penetration in Lagos state and electricity supply. However, he urged customers of the DisCo to protect electrical installations and equipment to prevent service disruption.
