- Nassarawa state government signs MoU on gas supply to the state
- Urges indigenes to key into investment opportunities in the gas sector
The Nassarawa State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), and the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) for gas supply to the state’s industries and investors. In attendance at the signing ceremony were the State Governor, Engr, Abdullahi Sule, the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari; Managing Director of GACN, Mr Olalekan Ogunleye, among others.
Speaking at the event, the MD, GACN Mr Ogunleye, said, “This is a major step in the federal government’s Gas Utilisation Expansion drive being facilitated vigorously by NNPC and GACN.”
“Evidently, NNPC’s management continues to drive the commercialisation of gas resources as a national economic development issue, while GACN and other NNPC subsidiaries like NGMC, NGC have clear cut roles and responsibilities to deliver concrete progress and value,” Ogunleye added.
Governor Sule also stated that the development was welcome and urged Nassarawa state indigenes to key into investment opportunities in the gas sector.
