- Power Minister tours Kudenda power station
- Assures of improvement in electricity supply in the coming months
The Minister of Power, Engr. Abubakar Aliyu has assured Nigerians of the improvement in electricity supply in the coming months. Aliyu made this known during an inspection visit to the Kudenda power station in Kaduna state.
”Present administration is worried about the power generation hovering around 5,000Mw, and efforts are in top gear to quickly increase it to 7,000Mw, then 11,000Mw before finally reaching 25,000Mw in a few years time,” Aliyu said.
”Within six months, you will see the electricity of this country improve,” he added.
The Minister noted that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari administration is doing everything possible to increase electricity generation from the current 5,000MW to at least 25,000MW in the coming years.
In attendance at the inspection tour was Governor Nasir Elrufai. The Kudenda power station is a 215MW located in the Chikun local government area of Kaduna state, and construction works are currently at 80% completion.
