The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the completion of the 330 kilovolts (kV) Akure Transmission Substation in Ondo State. The project will deliver up to 96 Mega Watts of electricity. TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, made this known over the weekend.

Quoting the Executive Director, Transmission Service Provider, Victor Adewumi, Mbah noted that the Akure 330/132/33kV substation has two units of 150 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) transformer on the 330kV section,

“Four outgoing 132kV line bays, and two units of 60MVA on the 132kV side with four outgoing feeder bays and six outgoing feeder bays on the 33kV side, to enable Benin DisCo offtake electricity for its consumers, ” Adewumi said.

Adewumi said that the completion of the 330KV transmission line was hindered by Right of Way (RoW) issues, most of which have been resolved by the intervention of the Osun, Ekiti and Ondo State Governors.
