Transcorp calls for cooperation in the sector
- Seeks an improvement in electricity generation
- Transcorp recently acquired Afam power plant
Transcorp Group, a leading investor in electricity generation, has called on stakeholders to work towards an improvement in electricity generation. The Group Chief Executive Officer, Transnational Corporation Plc, Ms. Owen Omogiafo made this call in an interview with Arise TV.
Ms. Omogiafo while taking questions said, ”We need to sit around the table to solve these problems. It’s not about pointing fingers, but we are working together to see how we will resolve the issues”. ”We all need to be around the table if we must successfully and sustainably make the power sector itself a sustaining one in other to deliver power” she added.
Speaking on Transcorp’s investments in energy generation, Ms Omogiafo said, Transcorp has faced many challenges including inadequate infrastructure and poor gas supply. She however noted that Transcorp has made successes in securing a firm Gas Supply Agreement (GSAs) in order to fix its supply challenges.
Transcorp recently concluded the purchase of Afam power plant and Three Fast Power from the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).
