- Trancorp Energy to develop Nuclear energy in Nigeria
- Set work with the Federal Government on nuclear power development
Nigeria’s energy giant, Transcorp Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc, has plans to develop the nuclear energy sector in Nigeria. Head, Transcorp Energy business Peter Ikenga, made this known during a meeting with the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu.
”This project is transformative, and a first in Nigeria and would radically change the way nuclear power plants are deployed, offering a substantially less expensive and less complicated solution”, Ikenga explained.
Responding to Mr Ikenga, the Minister welcomed the plan and added that the Federal Government would collaborate with Transcorp Energy to develop nuclear energy in the country. ”We are delighted to see this innovation and appreciate Transcorp for continuing to champion innovative solutions to Nigeria’s power infrastructure needs”, Onu said.
