Nigerian Breweries Plc has commissioned a 663.6kWp solar power plant at its Ibadan Brewery.
- The plant will reduce carbon emissions by over 10,000 tonnes over its lifespan.
- Nigerian Breweries aims to meet 70 per cent of its energy demands from renewable energy by 2030.
Nigerian Breweries Plc (NSE: NB) has commissioned a 663.6kWp solar power plant at its Ibadan Brewery. The plant will supply 800MWh of electricity to the brewery every year. The clean energy plant will also reduce its current energy bill and carbon emissions by over 10,000 tonnes over its lifespan.

The Oyo State Governor at the commissioning praised the brewery’s management, promoting environmental sustainability in the state. He affirmed that the administration would support the Nigerian Brewery, especially as it works towards achieving its target of 70 per cent renewable energy use by 2030.
Nigerian Breweries chairman, Chief Kolawole Jamodu, noted that the efforts of the governor to position the state as an investment destination encouraged the company to site its pilot solar power project in the state.
