Nordex’s Turbine Order Intake Drops to 1 GW in Q1

Nordex, a wind turbine manufacturer based in Germany, reported an order intake of 1,021 MW in the first quarter of 2023, which is a decrease of 12.4% from the same period last year, where it recorded 1,165 MW. The orders were received from eight European countries, with Estonia, Germany and Lithuania accounting for the largest volumes. The company booked orders for 177 turbine generators from January to March. Nordex CEO, Jose Luis Blanco, said that the order intake was solid and met good demand, particularly in the Baltic States.

The average selling price per megawatt of capacity was EUR 900,000, which is higher than the EUR 780,000 per MW recorded in Q1 2022. Nordex has installed more than 44 GW of wind turbine capacity in over 40 markets around the world, with production facilities located in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the US, India, and Mexico.
