NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NSML) and Temile Development Company Limited signed a vessel management agreement on Tuesday, June 11, for the LPG Alfred Temile 10, a 23,000-cubic-metre liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessel. This deal aims to improve LPG transportation in Nigeria and West Africa.

NSML Managing Director Abdulkadir Ahmed described the agreement as a “significant milestone” for LPG supply in the sub-region. The partnership, which began with the first LPG vessel, Alfred Temile, delivered in 2020, now includes a second vessel. Ahmed highlighted that the new vessel’s modern design and technology will set a new standard for LPG transportation.

Temile Development Company Chairman and CEO Alfred Temile announced plans to deliver another vessel by year-end. He recalled the challenges faced during the first vessel’s delivery in 2020 when no Nigerian company handled LPG marine transportation. “This was more than a commercial decision; it demonstrated our capability,” he said.

NSML board chairman and NNPC Limited Executive Vice President for Gas, Power, and New Energy Olalekan Ogunleye assured Temile Development of NSML’s competence in managing the growing fleet. Ogunleye is committed to supporting any additional vessels the company delivers.

NSML will manage the LPG Alfred Temile 10, which belongs to Temile Development Company. This partnership boosts the region’s LPG supply chain and reflects the companies’ commitment to operating a modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible fleet. The agreement aims to set a benchmark for LPG vessel management in West Africa, enhancing supply capabilities and technological standards.
