Vice-President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, witnessed the signing during the Nigeria Renewable Energy Innovation Forum (NREIF) 2025, which began on October 14 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Furthermore, Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Media and Strategy, said in a statement that the Federal Ministry of Power convened the forum in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), and the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE). Shettima served as the forum’s chairman for the 2025 edition.

Held under the theme “Implementing the Nigeria First Policy: Facilitating Local Content Development and Manufacturing in the Renewable Energy Ecosystem,” the forum gathered investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to chart the future of renewable energy manufacturing in Nigeria.

In addition, Akinmade said the agreements would position Ogun State as a hub for innovation, industrial growth, and environmental sustainability. He added that the projects align with the state’s vision to attract investments, create jobs, and build a robust, inclusive economy.

“By expanding local capacity for clean energy production, we are reducing dependence on imports and laying a foundation for inclusive industrial growth,” he said.
