Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in his presentation at the 3rd Ministerial Performance Review Retreat for Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and top Government Functionaries on Monday at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja, said that efforts are underway to provide electricity metres for additional six million households in Nigeria.
He added that one of the game-changing achievements of the administration was driving the digital economy, noting that the deployment of the technology would radically transform Nigeria’s digital technology landscape in the next few years.
The vice president’s presentation was titled “The President Muhammadu Buhari Administration: Reflections on the Journey So Far”. In his address, he stressed that the mass metering scheme would tremendously impact the electricity supply across the country. The National Mass Metering Programme financed by CBN has created 10,000 jobs, built 41-meter factories, and distributed about 1 million meters. He also added that the scheme is establishing structures to meter additional 6 million households and will sustainably eliminate the metering gap and proactively improve energy access.
